  Tim Martin

  President and Owner

For more than thirty years, Tim has been deeply rooted in the food and distribution industries. Tim brings a rare depth of industry expertise, enabling him to identify a company’s core strengths and position them effectively within the market. He approaches every project with a customized, hands-on strategy focused on aligning each client’s objectives and delivering measurable, impactful results.

Growing up in a family-owned specialty meat and seafood business provided the foundation for his career. He later played a key role in the business’s acquisition by a Fortune 50 national foodservice distributor, where he spent seven years in the broadline division. During that time, he led strategic sales and merchandising initiatives, accelerated growth in center-of-the-plate protein sales, and developed impactful sales training programs.

Following his broadline experience, Tim was promoted to president of two corporate owned meat and seafood divisions, charged with improving all facets of the business—operations, sales strategy, margin, and profitability. He later advanced to regional vice president of operations, overseeing performance and driving operational improvements across three regional divisions.

Currently, Tim serves as Director of Business Development for the Northeast for a privately held niche beef packing and processing operation. In this position he has gained deep insight into the beef packing industry and its unique market dynamics.

I’ve always been very hands-on in every aspect of business—operations, sales, and merchandising. By engaging directly with frontline teams and leadership across all areas, I quickly identify challenges, bottlenecks, and hidden opportunities. Just as importantly, I pay close attention to company culture and how it influences performance, communication, and accountability. Understanding the people behind the process is often what reveals the most meaningful opportunities for improvement.

From there, I develop plans tailored to each company’s specific needs—grounded not only in operational data, but also in the realities of their business environment. Whether it’s adapting to shifting customer expectations, competitive pressures, or supply chain challenges, each plan reflects the environment the business operates in.

Some plans involve building a clear framework for leadership to implement and sustain improvements. Other times, plans may require my direct, day-to-day involvement to guide execution. Every business is unique, and I provide solutions built around listening to leadership, understanding their culture, and aligning strategy to both internal strengths and market needs. I enjoy helping companies find solutions to challenges then seeing them flourish.

Wholesale Distributor (Retail Focused) – Developed a strategic plan to launch fresh seafood sales and distribution division to client's existing customer base. Plan included summary of regulatory requirements.

Protein Manufacturer – Provided a plant layout review to improve productivity and reduce labor costs.

Wholesale Distributor – Designed a volume-based model to plan and manage bi-weekly labor needs.

 

Wholesale Distributor – Developed a plan and structure to grow backhaul revenue and establish a dedicated business division.

Foodservice Operator – Recommended strategies to streamline purchasing, designed a labor planning tool, and identified savings opportunities to reduce food and labor costs.

Foodservice Operator – Advised on scaling a commissary operation, including daily labor management, cost control, and productivity improvement.
